Andy Muschietti might direct "Dracul", the origins of Dracula

Director Andy Muschietti is starting to get seriously busy. With only one movie out to date, Mama (2013), all the eyes are on him due to the imminent release of It (2017), a new adaptation of the popular Stephen King novel. Recently, Andy and his sister, the producer Barbara Muschietti have been announced to be attached to another big studio project, as is Shadow of the Colossus. if that wasn’t enough, Deadline announced in exclusive that the popular siblings tandem might have signed for another prequel for Dracula.

A few years after the disaster that was Dracula Untold (2014), Paramount is working on yet another prequel of the classic character created by Bram Stocker. The studio has purchased the rights to Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker’s Dracul, an officially authorized prequel to Stoker’s Dracula. This time, the story is set in 1868, where a young Bram Stoker meets with an ungodly evil that he traps in an ancient tower all the while scribbling the events that led him there.

for Paramount studios, Andy Muschietti is the first in the list to be chosen the director of Dracul, which probably would also attach Barbara Muschietti in the production team. It is yet to see who will be in charge of the script version of the text, or which names will lead the cast for the film.
