An ex-Marine against a Mexican cartel on the rescue of his daughter in action-thriller "Shrapnel"

Cam Gigandet (known for the role of James in Twilight (2008)) and Jason Patric (The Lost Boys (1987), Sleepers (1996), Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997), The Losers (2010)) star in the action-thriller Shrapnel (2023) where a former Marine and his old war buddy face off against the Mexican cartel behind the disappearance of his daughter.

When Sean’s (Jason Patric) daughter goes missing on the Mexican border, he teams up with his former Marine partner (Cam Gigandet) to face off against the cartel who kidnapped her.

William Kaufman, a director with big experience in high-adrenaline films like The Prodigy (2005), Sinners and Saints (2010), The Hit List (2011), One in the Chamber (2012), The Marine 4: Moving Target (2015), Jarhead 3: The Siege (2016), Daylight’s End (2016), The Brave (2019), Warhorse One (2023) ,and The Channel (2023), has been behind the cameras. Chad Law (6 Bullets (2012), Isolation (2015), The Flood (2023), The Getback (2023)) and Johnny Walters (Beyond the Law (2019)) are the writers of the screenplay.

Efrain Villa, Guillermo Iván, Megan Elisabeth Kelly, Teresa Decher, David DeLao, Mauricio Mendoza, JT Tomangi, Vincent E. McDaniel, Tasos Hernandez, Jack Forcinito, Emily Perry, and Kesia Elwin complete the main cast.

Shrapnel (2023) is Rated R for violence throughout, language and brief sexuality. Saban Films has the distribution rights for the movie and has scheduled it for an international release on August 3, 2023, after a limited theatrical release.
