The Colony (2021), whose original title was Tides, is a German-Swiss science-fiction thriller where a female astronaut, shipwrecked on the long-decimated Earth, must decide the fate of the wasteland’s remaining populace.
Set in the distant future, after a global catastrophe has wiped out nearly all of humanity on Earth, Blake, an elite astronaut from Space Colony Kepler must make a decision that will seal the fate of the people on both planets.
This is the new movie from awards-winner Switzerland-born filmmaker Tim Fehlbaum, known for horror and science-fiction thriller Apocalypse (2011), that achieved some awards in Fantasporto and Sitges Film Festival. He has also been the writer of the screenplay together with Mariko Minoguchi and Jo Rogers.
The film is starring Nora Arnezeder, a French singer and actress who has been recently being part of the main cast of Army of the Dead (2021). Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Iain Glen, Sope Dirisu, Joel Basman, Sebastian Roché, and Hong Indira Rieck also star.
The Colony (2021) had its world premiere at the Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival on March 1, 2021, and it was followed by its presence at Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival this summer.
