April Fools’ Day is already long gone this year in our short-term memory but who can’t say no to a killer prank?

The horror movie Pillow Party Massacre (2023) centers on five girls, five best friends, all haunted by their past mistakes of an April Fools prank gone fatally wrong, who meet again after two years for a summer week-long getaway in the woods to reconnect and reconcile.

Calvin Morié McCarthy, a prolific filmmaker who has been behind a collection of B-movie titles like 3 Flies in a Widow’s Web (2016), Spunk’s Not Dead (2018), Jesus I Was Evil (2018), An Amityville Poltergeist (2020), Mutant Vampires from the Planet Neptune (2021), A Haunting in Ravenwood (2021), or Conjuring: The Beyond (2022), has been the writer, producer, and director of Pillow Party Massacre (2023) where he also saved a small supporting role for himself.

Laura Welsh, Chynna Rae Shurts, Allegra Sweeny, Jax Kellington, Jon Meggison, Sebastian Bjorn, Savannah Raye Jones, Amy DiLorenzo, and Nicolette Pullen form the main cast.

Produced by Raptor FX Studio and Breaking Glass Pictures, the movie was out on digital on April 15, 2023.
