Funny headline, I know. But before we get deep into it, let me point at how the filmmakers of Croc! (2022) have paid their own tribute to the poster of perhaps the most important water predator horror movie ever made, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (1975). Something that Joe Dante also did with his cult film Piranha (1978), James Cameron followed it with his sequel Piranha II: The Spawning (1981), Alexandre Aja also took for his super funny remake Piranha 3D (2010), and even Steve Miner adapted it a little for another classic hungry angry crocodile flick Lake Placid (1999).
In Croc! (2022), Lisa and her family unite at a wedding venue, excited for the big day. However, unknown to the family, a nest of hungry crocodiles has been living in the nearby lake. As the crocodiles crash the wedding in a bloodthirsty massacre, the remaining family members must survive the night against these Jurassic beasts.
This is the new movie written and directed by Paul W. Franklin which marks his solo debut in a feature film after being part of the science-fiction drama The Impact (2022).
The main cast of Croc! (2022) is formed by Sian Altman, Mark Haldor, George Nettleton, Antonia Whillans, Chrissie Wunna, Stephen Staley, Beatrice Fletcher, Chris Cordell, and Kate Sandison.
The movie has been developed by Jagged Edge Productions, the people behind other creature flicks like Dinosaur Hotel (2021), Medusa (2020), or Easter Killing (2021).
Croc! (2022) is coming out on DVD and digital on October 4, 2022, by Uncork’d Entertainment. Watch its official trailer here.
