If you are a fan of the found-footage subgenre, this month you have a new title to aim for. In We Found Something (2022) we have most of the ingredients that made these films so popular, the unknown, a creature, and the wildness of the woods.
In the movie, while Ted and Maxie are on a rock climbing trip to help conquer Ted’s fear of heights, they find an unknown creature in the woods. They film their adventure and their footage is later discovered and compiled by an unknown person. They went into the woods on a quest to help Ted overcome his fear of heights but instead, they discovered a far bigger threat, an ancient beast.
Jesse Heisel is behind the film as the director, producer, and editor, and also has a small supporting role as an actor. The concept was also written by Jesse Heisel, however, the entire film was improvised by the actors. No script or dialogue was ever written and the actors had little to no idea what they were filming each day.
Leslie Gladney, Nathan Owen, Diana Regolizio, Jessica Murillo, and Sreejith Nair as The Creature form the main cast.
We Found Something (2022) was an Official Selection at the Horror Realm Film Festival. Now, it is coming out on digital and DVD by Wild Eye Releasing, on September 27, 2022. Watch its official trailer here.
