"Amityville in Space": The cursed house gets exorcised from Earth

It all started with The Amityville Horror (1979), the movie directed by Stuart Rosenberg and starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder adapting the 1977 horror novel of the same name written by Jay Anson. The movie became a cult classic and started a saga that included Amityville II: The Possession (1982), Amityville 3-D (1983), and Amityville Horror: The Evil Escapes (1989). In this new century, we saw a remake of the original film, The Amityville Horror (2005), starring Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George. After that, many films bloomed with the subject of the haunted house, although most of them share no connection with the original story other than the reference to Amityville. Titles like Amityville: The Awakening (2017), The Amityville Murders (2018), The Amityville Moon (2021), or Amityville Cult (2021) can be good examples of the exploitation of the myth.

Now it’s time to take a look at one of the upcoming titles based on the classic, Amityville in Space (2022), another twist of the screw. In it, the ultimate battle against the Amityville curse begins after the infamous murder house is exorcised from Earth and reappears in outer space.

This is the new movie from writer and director Mark Polonia, a prolific filmmaker who has been behind horror titles like Church of the Damned (1985), Dinosaur Chronicles (2004), Chainsaw Killer (2013), Jurassic Prey (2015), Sharkenstein (2016), Shark Encounters of the Third Kind (2020), or Noah’s Shark (2021).

The main cast of Amityville in Space (2022) is formed by Titus Himmelberger, Cassandra Hayes, Jeff Kirkendall, Tim Hatch, Ryan Dalton, and Michael Korotitsch.

The movie is scheduled for a DVD and digital release in July 2022 by Wild Eye Releasing. Watch here the official trailer of Amityville in Space (2022).
