"All Fun and Games": A group of teens discovers the hard way this cursed artifact is no toy

Anthony & Joe Russo, better known for their involvement in the MCU having been behind Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), continue with their involvement of producing independent horror and thriller movies with their banner AGBO. Having been responsible for the development of the horrors Assassination Nation (2018), Relic (2020), the Netflix thrillers Extraction (2020), Extraction II (2023), and The Gray Man (2022), and the hit title of the last year Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), the horror thriller All Fun and Games (2023) is seeing the light this summer.

The movie centers on a group of teens in Salem, Massachusetts, who discover a cursed knife that unleashes a demon that forces them to play gruesome and deadly versions of childhood games where there can be no winners, only survivors.

Two emerging teenage actors, Asa Butterfield, who was a kid star having starred in Mark Herman’s The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008) and Martin Scorsese’s Hugo (2011), later also starring in Ender’s Game (2013), The Space Between Us (2017), Choose or Die (2022), and Flux Gourmet (2022), and Natalia Dyer of Don’t Let Me Go (2013), Chestnut (2023), and Stranger Things (2016–2025) fame, lead the main cast that also includes Annabeth Gish, Laurel Marsden, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Summer H. Howell, Kolton Stewart, Shylo Molina, Matthew Lupu, Erik Athavale, and Sydney Sabiston.

All Fun and Games (2023) is the debut feature film of the tandem of directors Eren Celeboglu and Ari Costa (who has been executive producer of several Russo Brothers films), the filmmakers responsible for the awards-winner horror short film The Internet Kills (2020). They are also the authors of the screenplay together with J.J. Braider, the story editor in Vampire Academy (2022).
