Acclaimed werewolf fantasy-horror “Jacky Caillou” hits American cinemas this weekend

This fantasy thriller, mixing topics of horror and the supernatural like werewolves and other folklore follows a young man, Jacky Caillou, who lives in a small village in the French Alps with his loving grandmother Gisele, a magnetic healer respected by all. Elsa, a young woman comes from the city to consult: A strange hairy dark stain grows on her back. When the village starts to suffer herd killings, and his grandmother passes away, Jacky urgently needs to understand if he inherited the ancestral gift. Will he manage to save both Elsa and his village?

Lucas Delangle debuts as the director of a feature film with Jacky Caillou (2022). He is also the co-writer of the screenplay together with Olivier Strauss.

Thomas Parigi, Edwige Blondiau, Lou Lampros, Jean-Louis Coulloc’h, Romain Laguna, Georges Isnard, Sivan Garavagno, and Jean-Marc Ravera form the main cast.

Since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2022, Jacky Caillou (2022) has been in a successful festival run including Brussels International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Kaohsiung Film Festival, Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Phoenix Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival (nominated for the New Visions Award for Best Motion Picture) and São Paulo International Film Festival (nominated for the New Directors Competition).

Dark Sky Pictures have the distribution rights for the film and will release it in theaters in NYC and Los Angeles on April 7, 2023, followed by a DVD and digital release on April 11, 2023. Watch its trailer here.
