A woman unleashes the monster inside of her to protect her son in "Blood Red Sky"

Since its announcement, Blood Red Sky (2021) is one of the titles in 2021 that I am more excited to see. It is a genuine personal interest, and I am aware perhaps Netflix releases are never as satisfying as most of us should expect. But, this time, they have me ready and craving for the deal.

This horror action thriller centers on Nadja and her ten-year-old son as they are on an overnight flight from Germany to New York when a group of terrorists violently take control of the plane and threaten the lives of the passengers. Suddenly Nadja faces an impossible choice – should she reveal her dark side and the inner monster she has kept hidden from her son for years in order to save him? The hunters become the hunted.

Peter Thorwarth, a German filmmaker and awards-winner for his comedy TV series Was nicht passt wird passend gemacht (2003–2004) and the action thriller Bang Boom Bang – Ein todsicheres Ding (1999), has been the writer and director of Blood Red Sky (2021). The screenplay was written together with Stefan Holtz.

The main cast for the movie is formed by Peri Baumeister, Graham McTavish, Dominic Purcell, Roland Møller, Rebecca Dyson-Smith, Alexander Scheer, Sinead Phelps, Chidi Ajufo, and Leonie Brill.

Blood Red Sky (2021) is set to be released on July 23, 2021, by Netflix. Here you can watch its official trailer.
