Don’t Tear Yourself Apart (2023) is an independent thriller film shot in 10 days and developed with a small budget during the COVID-19 pandemic using iPhone devices. The result is a visually exciting film that became a nice surprise in independent film festivals.
The movie centers on Carol, who a few years ago endured a traumatizing event. Haunted for years and fed by the hunger for revenge, she must do the unthinkable to find the man responsible for it all. Will she recognize who she has become before it’s too late?
This is the debut feature film of the producer, writer, editor, and director P. Tavares, who has had a career in producing television shows and is also responsible for the awards-winner horror mystery short film Do Not Disturb! (2014).
The main cast in Don’t Tear Yourself Apart (2023) is formed by Chelsea J. Smith, Matt Standley, Luis Carazo, Amira Gray, Sebastian Nagpal, Sharieff Walters, Soleil Ife, Trina Shpur, Nick McCarthy, and Anthony Esposito.
The film and cast have collected several nominations and awards outstanding the director’s Honorable Mention for Best Indie Film at the Paris Film Awards and Chelsea J. Smith winning Best Actress at the Falcon International Film Festival (FIFF) and Buenos Aires International Film Festival.
