Night Caller (2022) is a horror-thriller with a serial killer committing terrible acts, but it also steps in the terrains of the supernatural dealing with a psychic and her mental powers to see the events happening.
The movie centers on telephone psychic Clementine Carter, who is pulled into a complex web of mystery when she receives a call from a serial killer. Predicting his murders before he commits them puts her into a terrifying game of cat and mouse. Enlisting the aid of her invalid father and clairvoyant co-worker, they must use their unique abilities to stay one step ahead of a maniac whose unspeakable acts in the present are nothing compared to his past and future.
This is the new movie from producer, writer, and director Chad Ferrin, a filmmaker that has been responsible with his banner Crappy World Films of several horror films including The Ghouls (2003), Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! (2006), Someone’s Knocking at the Door (2009), Parasites (2016), The Chair (2016), Exorcism at 60,000 Feet (2019), or The Deep Ones (2020).
The main cast is formed by Steve Railsback, who already played a serial killer in Ed Gein (2000) and is also known for Lifeforce (1985), Blue Monkey (1987), and Barb Wire (1996), and Bai Ling, popular for uncountable action movies including The Crow (1994), Wild Wild West (1999), Taxi 3 (2003), Southland Tales (2006), Crank: High Voltage (2009), and Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance (2015).
