You might agree with me or not, but every time there is a science-fiction movie exploring the universe and throwing on the table the infinite mysteries of space, whether it is fictional or not, I’m in. And British movie Deus (2022) is one that is clearly calling my attention.
In the movie, a mysterious black sphere is discovered in the orbit of Mars. The Achilles is sent to investigate. After the bedraggled six-person crew wake from eight months of hibernation, the sphere is transmitting a single word in every Earth language ever known – Deus.
This is the new movie from writer and director Steve Stone, known for the awards-winner horror thriller Entity (2012), and also for Schism (2016) and In Extremis (2017).
The main cast is formed of Claudia Black, Richard Blackwood, Phil Davis, Lisa Eichhorn, Charlie MacGechan, David O’Hara, Sophia Pettit, Branko Tomovic, and Crystal Yu.
Deus (2022) had its premiere at the Sci-Fi-London Film Festival, on May 22, 2022, where it got a positive welcoming. Now, it is scheduled for DVD and digital release by 4Digital Media on September 13, 2022.
