It seems that in South Korea they are getting a late taste in zombie productions, and it is there to stay. If the most notorious zombie movie of the last years, Train to Busan (2016), came from the Asian country, now a new TV series that is aiming to be one of the hit ones of the winter season, All of Us Are Dead (2022–), is about to see the light.
Consisting of 8 episodes, the TV series is set in a high school that becomes ground zero for a zombie virus outbreak. Trapped students must fight their way out or turn into one of the rabid infected. The school turned into a bloody battleground and our friends into worst enemies. Will you kill, or let yourself be killed?
The series is based on the webtoon released on the online portal Naver entitled Now at our School by Joo Dong-geun, which was published between 2009 and 2011. The episodes have been written by Chun Sung-il and directed by the debutant Kim Nam-su and awards-winner director Lee Jae-kyoo, known for Intimate Strangers (2018), The Fatal Encounter (2014), In-peul-loo-eon-seu (2010), and The Night Before the Strike (1990).
The main cast for All of Us Are Dead (2022–) includes several popular faces from the American family comedy television like Harrison Xu (Shameless (2011–2021)), Victoria Grace (School of Rock (2016–2018)), and Lisa Yamada (Man with a Plan (2016–2020)). Darren Keilan, Lee Yoo-mi, Rich Ting, Yi-Hyun Cho, Park Solomon, Ji-hu Park, Chan-Young Yoon, In-soo Yoo, Lim Jae-Hyeok, and Byeong-cheol Kim complete the main cast.
With the headline “School’s out for the Apocalypse”, the 8 episodes of All of Us Are Dead (2022–) will be released on Netflix on January 28, 2022. Watch here the official series trailer.
