Unbeknownst to the unsuspecting inhabitants, a malevolent and otherworldly presence lurks within the very walls they call home. As the body count rises, a couple residing in the cottage finds themselves at the heart of this nightmarish ordeal. Determined to uncover the truth and break free from the clutches of this supernatural entity, they embark on a harrowing journey to solve the mystery of the cursed grounds they inhabit. Time becomes their enemy as they delve deeper into the dark history of the cottage and encounter unsettling paranormal occurrences. With each step they take towards unraveling the chilling enigma, they inadvertently open the door to a fiery inferno that threatens to consume them and everything they hold dear. As the couple’s sanity is pushed to the brink and their lives hang in the balance, they must summon every ounce of courage and resilience to confront the malevolence that has taken hold of their once-idyllic sanctuary. Can they uncover the sinister secrets hidden within the cottage’s walls and put an end to the murderous rampage before it’s too late? Or will their relentless pursuit of truth and escape ultimately lead them to a fate worse than they could ever imagine?
This is the new movie from the writer, director, and producer Calvin Morié McCarthy, also serving as the cinematographer of the film. He is a prolific horror filmmaker responsible for the titles BEDTIMESCARRIES.com (2015), 3 Flies in a Widow’s Web (2016), If These Walls Could Talk (2017), the segment Spunky Shines in the anthology Spunk’s Not Dead (2018), Jesus I Was Evil (2018), An Amityville Poltergeist (2020), Mutant Vampires from the Planet Neptune (2021), A Haunting in Ravenwood (2021), Conjuring: The Beyond (2022), and the awards-winner Pillow Party Massacre (2023).
The main cast in Insidious Inferno (2023) is mainly formed by frequent collaborators of the director and it includes Neil Green, Steve Larkin, Stephanie Leet, Chynna Rae Shurts, Marcella Laasch, Tim Coyle, Erik Skybak, and Will James.
