The team formed by the writer and director Anthony DiBlasi and his co-writer Scott Poiley was behind a terrifying horror thriller called Last Shift (2014) that won some awards in underground genre festivals. Now, the two are reimagining the story again and have conceived it as a new gory horror film entitled Malum (2023).
The movie centers around a new police officer who volunteers to work the final shift at a recently closed police station. Her goal is to investigate the mysterious link between her father’s death and a savage cult. As the night progresses, she is subjected to a series of horrifying paranormal occurrences while uncovering the secrets of her family’s disturbing history.
The filmmakers behind Malum (2023) have also been responsible for the horror Cassadaga (2011) and the thriller Missionary (2013). The director Anthony DiBlasi is also known for Dread (2009), Most Likely to Die (2015), Her Last Will (2016), and Extremity (2018).
Jessica Sula, Candice Coke, Chaney Morrow, Natalie Victoria, Britt George, Eric Olson, Kevin Wayne, Sam Brooks, Christopher Matthew Spencer, and Monroe Cline starred in the film.
