Horror slasher Wrong Turn (2003) became a big sensation at the beginning of the new century. The movie grew a fanbase so strong that a good handful of sequels were produced afterward, being Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014) the last one in the saga. But now, the people from Constantin Film, who also produced the original film, have decided to reboot the saga. And Mike P. Nelson, director of horror titles like The Domestics (2018) and Summer School (2006), has been the chosen one to carry on this new project.
In Wrong Turn (2003), also known as KM.666, six people find themselves trapped in the woods of West Virginia, hunted down by cannibalistic mountain men grossly disfigured through generations of inbreeding. The movie was the big break-through for actress Eliza Dushku, who already had achieved some recognition for her appearances on TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1996–2003) and Angel (1999–2004). With her, Desmond Harrington, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jeremy Sisto, Kevin Zegers, Lindy Booth, Julian Richings, Garry Robbins and Ted Clark also starred.
The cast for the Wrong Turn (2003) reboot is yet unknown. The movie will be based on the characters created by Alan B. McElroy, but no name for the new screenwriter has transcended. This new reboot, another for the collection of sagas revisited, won’t probably see the light until 2020. But to refresh your memory you can watch the trailer for the first original film here:
