Are people still having dates now that we have everything closed and these heavy restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic? At least here in German things are going crazy, really. But, well, let’s forget reality for a bit and focus on this parallel universe created by fiction, in another time and place where people could still interact in person with others and have freedom of mobility in our own cities. Attention! People having dates in Central Park Dark (2021)! Oh, and then finding psychopathic behavior and turning your life into a nightmare, but that’s the fun part, isn’t it?

This psychological thriller with some drops of horror takes place after a one-night stand. Thomas, an alcoholic married doctor has a date stand with Anna, an unstable woman, who jumps out of his window, then begins to torment him, though it’s unclear if she’s alive or not. Appearing in his dreams, Anna lets him in on a secret about the long history of dark forces in Central Park. Working with these dark forces, Anna takes revenge on Thomas through a series of ancient rituals. As Thomas struggles to return to his normal life, a descent into darkness ensues.
