In the horror-thriller film Hostage (2021), young cheerleader Ashley was adopted by her parent’s killers. Years later, during a home robbery, her crazed family will reveal what they are really capable of and she must decide whose side she is on.
After Mark breaks into a suburban home, he is stuck having to pay for the consequences of his actions. Mark soon learns that the home is inhabited by criminals who will do whatever it takes to make sure he does not get out alive. Mark, who is a criminal himself wants to do whatever it takes to get out of the messy situation to which he got himself into.
This is the first movie by director Eddie Augustin, who also wrote the screenplay together with Laura Ashley Polisena. In the words of the director, “Hostage (2021) is my feature film, directorial debut. After directing several short films, I decided it was time to make my own feature. I partnered with my long-time collaborator, Laura Polisena to co-write and produce a compelling story that would focus on a convoluted character and the people that made her that way. We also wanted to tell a story in which the audience does not know who to side for because everyone has their own evil motive (of course some are worse than others)”.
The movie is starring Nicole Henderson, Daryl Marks, Maria Jimena Osorio, Mike Cannz, and Tina Trineer.
Hostage (2021) will premiere on digital platforms on August 20, 2021, via Terror Films. Here you can watch its official trailer.
