A young mother searches for the truth behind her husband’s murder in In A Good Woman is Hard to Find (2019). This is the new movie of South Africa born director Abner Pastoll after a good bunch of short films and his feature debut horror thriller Road Games (2015). The screenplay has been signed by Ronan Blaney, writer of the horror-comedy Love Bite (2012).
In A Good Woman is Hard to Find (2019), recently widowed a mother of two, Sarah is desperate to know who murdered her husband in front of their young son, rendering him mute. Coerced into helping a low-life drug dealer stash narcotics stolen from the local Mr. Big, she’s forced to go beyond humanity into taking drastic action to protect her children while learning the awful truth about her spouse.
Sarah Bolger, better known for her participation in horror and fantasy films The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), The Moth Diaries (2011) and The Lazarus Effect (2015), is the main star of the show. Together with her, Edward Hogg, Andrew Simpson, Jane Brennan, Caolan Byrne, Packy Lee, Rudy Doherty, Macie McCauley, Susan Ateh, Siobhan Kelly, Sean Sloan, Nigel O’Neill, and Daryl McCormack also star.
A Good Woman is Hard to Find (2019) had a special advance screening at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, nominated for the Fresh Blood Award, before its official world premiere as the closing film at Frightfest London, where it won several awards including Best of British, Best Villain, Best Actor for Sarah Bolger and Best Film. After that, it has had an extense film festivals run this year including its presence at Motelx Festival Internacional de cinema de terror de Lisboa, Fantasy Filmfest, Cinemagic Belfast, FANGORIA x MONSTER FEST, Screamfest LA, Ramaskrik Film Festival, Festival International du Film de La Roche-sur-Yon, Tysvær skrekkfest, Razor Reel Film Festival, Morbido Film Fest, and Festival de Cine de Terror de Molins de Rei among others. This weekend it will also be part of the Cool Connections festival in Russia.
A Good Woman is Hard to Find (2019) had its commercial release in the UK in October, and now it has been announced to arrive on digital platforms in 2020 via Film Movement in the USA and Signature Entertainment in Europe. Here you can find the official trailer for the film:
