The horror western Homestead (2023) has been described as a nail-biting mesh of the popular TV series 1883 (2021–2022) with Rob Zombie’s gory nightmare House of 1000 Corpses (2003).
The movie centers on a family of homesteaders who are taken captive by a gang of outlaws. Their survival comes to rest in the hands of Irene: a loud-mouthed 12-year-old girl who’s got an uncanny knack for shooting guns.
This is the debut feature film of the writer, director, and executive producer Ehrland Hollingsworth.
The main cast is formed by Brian Krause, known for his role Leo Wyatt in the popular fantasy TV series Charmed (1998–2006) and for Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991) and Sleepwalkers (1992), Jamie Bernadette, an awards-winner for her role in the horror film Ash and Bone (2022) and also present in American Satan (2017), and the former wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, who has also starred in The Devil’s Rejects (2005), Hood of Horror (2006), and Penance Lane (2020). Mike Ferguson, Mike Markoff, Greg Kriek, Betsy Sligh, and Scot Scurlock complete the main cast.
