A cowboy wannabe travels 160 years back in time in the fantasy western "Showdown in Yesteryear"

It might sound like the best gift life could give someone who dreams about those arid times when the new continent was still being created, right? Or maybe not?

The fantasy western Showdown in Yesteryear (2022) centers on Daryl Dumwoody, a down-on-his-luck wannabe cowboy. But when he stumbles upon a mysterious old door on the ranch, upon entering he’s suddenly thrust back in time-160 years back to the old west where outlaws rule and life is extremely dangerous.

This is the new movie from Aaron Bratcher after the action-thriller Pawns’ Volition (2021). Gregory Lamberson, the creator of Slime City (1988), Naked Fear (1999), Slime City Massacre (2010), Dry Bones (2013), Johnny Gruesome (2018), Widow’s Point (2019), and Guns of Eden (2022), and Tim O’Hearn, who also plays one of the main roles in the film, are the writers of Showdown in Yesteryear (2022).

The main cast is led by the veterans Vernon Wells, known for the 1980s hits The Road Warrior (1981), Weird Science (1985), Commando (1985), and Innerspace (1987), and Debra Lamb, who has been part of Stripped to Kill 2: Live Girls (1989), Evil Spirits (1991), All Strippers Must Die! (2012), and Blood Covered Chocolate (2022). Jeff Grennell, Jesse Marciniak, Aaron Bratcher, Patrick Lamba, Michelle Snyder, and Trina Hayes also star.

Showdown in Yesteryear (2022) is produced by Ass Backwards Films. It was part of last year on the film festival circuit collecting over 17 awards, including Best Feature, Best Actor Best Actress, Best Score, and more. The movie is already available on digital platforms. Watch its trailer here.
