There are so many places in this world that we don’t completely understand and that are a deadly threat for the majority of us, not used to survival techniques and the knowledge of the mediums. If the deep of the ocean is mostly unknown to us, on the surface of the planet there are vast areas of terrain that remain a big mystery and threat, and those are deep jungles.
The survival thriller Quicksand (2023) follows a married couple almost divorcing who becomes trapped in quicksand while hiking through a rainforest in Colombia. They will battle the elements of the jungle and must work together in order to survive.
This is the new movie from the LA-based Colombia-born filmmaker Andres Beltran after the Sitges Film Festival nominated the horror Llanto Maldito (2021) and the crime thriller Bad Days (2019). Matt Pitts, who has been the assistant to JJ Abrams in Cloverfield (2008) and Star Trek (2009), is the executive producer and writer of Quicksand (2023).
The main cast in the movie is formed by Andrés Castañeda, Sebastian Eslava, Carolina Gaitan, and Allan Hawco.
AMC+ has the streaming ¡rights for the movie and is releasing it as part of the Shudder catalog on June 23, 2023.
